Filter Bottle Series

When using the Micro Disc cartridge sheet for the first time, please soak the cartridge sheet in warm water for 1 minute to ensure smooth water flow during filtering.

To avoid scalding hands with hot water, it is recommended to use a water temperature within 50 ℃.

All BRITA products do not make any harmful substances to the human body! The entire series of filter bottles are free of PBA and plasticizers, so please feel free to use.

Micro Disc cartridge sheet is made of high-density activated carbon microporous cartridge sheet and non-woven fabric, which can efficiently filter chlorine, trihalomethanes, lead and other substances affecting the taste. The replacement of the Micro Disc cartridge sheet is mainly based on time. It is recommended to replace it every 4 weeks to ensure the quality and fresh taste of the filtered water (about 150 liters of water volume). This product is applicable to fill&go / fill&serve products with two different capacities.

Unopened Micro Disc cartridge sheet is valid for 4 years.

Please disassemble the filter bottle parts and store them in a completely dry manner. The Micro Disc cartridge sheet should be stored in a shady and cool, dry place and completely sealed.

If the battery in your display is exhausted or faulty, you can attach your product purchase certificate and the removed display accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope with registered postage of NT $ 50 (the size can be used to place a new display), on which please write your recipient information (name / telephone / address) clearly and mail it back by "registered" to: 3F., No. 205, Sec. 3, Beixin Rd., Xindian Dist, New Taipei City 23142, Customer Service Department of BRITA TAIWAN CO., LTD. We will mail you a new one free of charge within seven working days after receiving it!

*In order to speed up the processing of your mail, it is recommended that you sent the commodities to be repaired with a detailed description of the contents to be serviced and your detailed mailing information (name, telephone, address and zip code).

Please keep pressing the two buttons on the LED display at the same time for about three seconds, until the LED lamp flashes green, yellow and red, and then start to set.

Setting mode of mypure pro cartridge replacement reminder device:
Remove the insulation sheet on the indicator light directly for the first time to use, and the indicator light will start to operate.

Reset the indicator light, please remove the cartridge status indicator light from the control lever, and keep pressing the two buttons of the cartridge status indicator light simultaneously for three seconds, until the color LED light starts flashing green, yellow and red. After completion, insert the cartridge status indicator light back into the correct position of the control lever of the filter tap, and pay attention to whether the installation direction of parts is correct

The meaning of each color of the status indicator of mypure pro cartridge is as follows:
Green light - Cartridge maintains optimal filtration efficiency.
Yellow light - About 90% of the filtration efficiency has been exhausted. It is necessary to replace a new cartridge as soon as possible to maintain the best filtration efficiency.
Red light - It is recommended to replace the cartridge immediately to maintain the water filtration efficiency.

Press and hold the RESET button of the indicator light for three seconds, until the white LED light flashes, then the setting is completed.

Free standard installation service is included in the purchase of UTS system in our authorized distribution channel. The installation methods and charging standards are as follows:

When you need our company to provide On Tap water filter maintenance services, it is required to attach the warranty card of our company's products or the purchase certificate of our authorized distribution channel during the warranty period; in case of the product warranty period has expired, or unable to provide proof that the above product is within the warranty period, the maintenance fee will be charged at its discretion.

* The warranty period of our company's product warranty card is two years from the date of purchase indicated on the warranty card, or you also log in the product registration on our official website (www.brita.tw), the warranty period is prolonged to three years (including two years of the original warranty).

Charging norms:
Cash will be collected for on-site maintenance. Complete remittance and proactively provide remittance voucher before mailing maintenance. No other payment method will be offered or accepted.

  • When the product to be repaired is mailed to our company, the maintenance fee remittance voucher shall be attached for reconciliation.
  • Our company will issue an invoice for the maintenance fee, which will be provided after the on-site maintenance is completed and charged, and will be attached to the product after the mail maintenance is completed and sent back by our company.
  • For mail maintenance, you need to pay the postage for mailing the product to be repaired to our company, and no additional postage will be charged when we send back the repaired product. If you want to take back the product that has been sent to be repaired and do not continue to complete the maintenance, you can take it back in person or mail it back with the assistance of our company. The mailing fee will be paid in cash upon arrival. The storage period of the product to be repaired is one month. After the expiration of this period, our company will no longer bear the responsibility of storage. The MAXTRA + cartridge derived from the German BRITA laboratory is composed of ion exchange resin and activated carbon. BRITA in order to meet the expectations of German rigorous quality from all walks of life, all cartridge materials and production processes are subject to strict quality monitoring by the original factory laboratory and the EU TŰV inspection agency. MAXTRA + cartridge has been awarded TŰV food grade certification. Although BRITA has always produced MAXTRA + cartridge with such high quality, you will still occasionally see tiny black particles in the filtered water. This kind of black particles comes from the activated carbon of one of the above filter materials. The granular activated carbon used by BRITA is made of natural coconut shell. Just like all products in the natural world, the material of the coconut shell will be affected by natural conditions, and dried coke is more likely to crack. During the transportation process from the factory to the store and finally to your hands, the granular activated carbon is constantly rubbed and agitated, resulting in some tiny carbon particles appearing at the bottom of your water filter jug, and these tiny carbon particles have not negative impact on your health. If you ingest them, they will be naturally excreted without any change. Common examples are activated carbon tablets (capsules) that are used by doctors as a natural remedy for dysentery, and in Taiwan, bamboo charcoal water and bamboo charcoal cakes are commonly sold.

The instructions attached in the packaging of your water filter jug can also be read as follows:
It is recommended that before replacing or using a new cartridge of BRITA cartridge in every time, please directly soak the newly unsealed cartridge in water for about 15 minutes, and then shake it in the soaking water for about 1 minute before taking it out to remove bubbles. After completing the previous steps, place the cartridge in the funnel. Before filtering, please pour out 2 ~ 3 pots (it is normal for soaking or filtering water to be gray black or colorless), it can be used normally from the third pot. Usually when filling water, please do not drive the flow volume too much (keep away from the cartridge and fill the water around the cartridge). In addition, please do not take the cartridge to the bottom of the tap for direct cleaning, so as not to cause activated carbon to agitate and rub into fine powders.

On Tap Water Filter System

The innovative mix of the activated carbon filter, the ion exchange and the hollow fibre membrane reduces contaminants and impurities that can impair odour or taste in drinking water.

Minerals such as calcium and magnesium can pass through the filter.

All BRITA materials in contact with water do not contain polycarbonate and therefore do not release BPA.

Additionally, materials used in BRITA appliances are certified food grade quality. This includes migration tests according to EC legislation. Accordingly, there is no migration of forbidden/dangerous substances above the levels set by the EC.

Please filter cold water only for optimum performance.

The unfiltered water settings may be used with hot water.

If properly stored, all original BRITA cartridges can be kept for 5 years.

Proper storage includes a temperature between 1°C and 50°C, with no direct sunlight or heat, while the cartridge remains sealed in its original package.

A small amount of hot water running through the water filter will not damage it.

However, make sure you always use cold water for the filtering process. 

The BRITA On Tap is meant to improve the taste of tap water, e.g. for cold drinks, and to remove a broad range of impurities while letting minerals such as calcium and magnesium pass through the filter.

Drinking hard water is not harmful not does it contribute to bad taste. The filtered water can also be used for preparing hot drinks or cooking but does not protect appliances against lime scale build-up. If you want to reduce the hardness of your tap water, a product with the BRITA MAXTRA+ filter or a BRITA Under The Sink solution may be a better choice.

The Brita On Taps comes with different adapters.

Determine which adapter you need (see page 2 in the manual). If none of the adapters fit, please contact your local BRITA customer service team. 

Clean the outside of the BRITA On Tap with a damp sponge and mild washing-up liquid.

Abrasive cleaners, detergents or chrome polish may mark the finish. Do not put the BRITA On Tap or any of its parts in the dishwasher.

You can dispose the filter cartridge in normal domestic waste.

Please remember, that the system contains a Lithium battery which must be disposed separately according to the local applicable regulations and statutory requirements.

Change the cartridge as described in the manual and run water through the filter for 1-2 minutes to remove any residue.

The filter is now ready for use

The On Tap Filter uses 3 types of filtration: Its Activated Carbon reduces taste and odour impairing substances like chlorine, as well as pesticides and herbicides*

The Ion Exchange fibre reduces metals such as lead*

The unopened cartridge of the On Tap water filter has a shelf life of 5 years.

The filter lasts up to 600 litres (approx. 4 months, depending on usage) and can be exchanged in no time.

The digital display shows remaining filter capacity. If your tap water contains sediments, these may block the filter over the lifetime and lead to a reduction of the flow rate. If the flow rate becomes too low, please exchange the filter. 

Put the battery into the battery holder and screw the upper lid tightly again. The three lights on the upper lid will flash twice in succession, which means to start operation. After using the new cartridge or replacing the cartridge, please let the water flow through the water filter for about 1 minute before using.

BRITA is confident that you can feel an unprecedented fresh taste of drinking water immediately after using the product! We promise that you can bring the complete commodities and the outer packing box together with the purchase certificate back to the original place of purchase for unconditional replacement within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Once the BRITA filter cartridge has been exhausted, the water will still pour through the filter, but the reduction of the substances will become less and less effective.

It will not leach impurities back into the filtered water.

The On Tap Water Filter is a compact high quality water filter that is mounted directly on your tap within seconds, taking out a broad range of impurities and providing you with purer, great-tasting water. 

The cartridge of On Tap water filter is made of a new generation of thin double-layer non-woven fabric and 0.5 micron high-density bacteriostatic activated carbon, which can filter up to 1200 liters of water (replace the cartridge once every 4 months), effectively filter the fine particles such as rust and silt, and absorb the organic pollutants such as peculiar smell, chlorine, trihalomethanes, lead and pesticides in the water. The filtration efficiency is indeed exquisite and delicate.

The flow rate depends on the pressure of your mains water, the average is 1.6 litres per minute.

If your tap water contains sediments, these may block the filter over the lifetime and lead to a reduction of the flow rate. If the flow rate becomes too low, please exchange the filter.

There is still water under pressure in the On Tap housing when the tap is turned off.

It is normal for the filtered water flow to continue for a few seconds. 

  • A) Make sure you have chosen the right adapter for your kind of tap.
  • B) Ensure that you have attached the system to the tap correctly (do not use any tools!). 
  • C) If you experience leakage despite using the right adapter and having installed the system correctly, please contact your local BRITA customer service team.

 Remedy: Ensure that the filter cartridge cap has been tightened properly.

If your tap water contains sediments, these may block the filter over the lifetime and lead to a reduction of the flow rate.

If the flow rate becomes too low, please exchange the filter.

The activated carbon in the cartridge of BRITA On Tap water filter can be resistant to 130°C. If the hot water is not filtered for a long period of time, the cartridge will not be damaged. It is recommended to filter the tap water at room temperature.

Under-Cabinet Water Filtration System

BRITA is confident that you can feel an unprecedented fresh taste of drinking water immediately after using the product! We promise that you can contact the customer service hotline within 30 days from the date of purchase and pay the disassembly fee of NT $ 1500, return the complete commodities and outer packing box together with the purchase certificate and then handle the return commodities.

Qualified tap water must be drinking water that can be directly drunk in accordance with the law, but because tap water adds a lot of chlorine for sterilization, and the trace by-product trihalomethanes (carcinogen) generated during the process of chlorine disinfection will also remain in the water. After heating, the concentration of trihalomethanes will gradually increase and then volatilize into the air. In addition, the limescale problem that affects the taste, the blockage of the household appliance pipeline, and the trace metals in the water cannot be removed by boiling. Through BRITA products, residual chlorine, trihalomethanes, and other substances that affect the taste and smell of drinking water can be effectively filtered out. Using the X9 / X6 in MAXTRA + cartridge, P1000 / P3000 cartridge, and mypure pro under-cabinet water filtration system can also effectively filter hard water to soften it and filter metals (such as lead and copper), allowing you to easily enjoy fresh and good water. For those who are accustomed to boiling water, filtering before boiling can also avoid the problem of trihalomethanes volatilizing into the air and inhaling into the human body after the water is boiled.

It is not recommended that you connect heaters of other brands in series. Connecting heaters of other brands in series may cause your water filtration system to malfunction, and your product warranty may also be invalidated by connecting commodities that are not authorized by BRITA.

It is recommended that you replace the cartridge every 12 months or when the filtered water volume has reached the upper limit. When X9 / X6 are installed in the hard water region, the maximum filtered water volume is 2000 liters, and V9 / V6 is 4,000 liters. If X9 / X6 are installed in the soft water region, the filtered water volume is compared with V9 / V6. The life of the cartridge depends on the water quality of your installation site and your water consumption. The time for replacing the cartridge can be adjusted according to the water quality and water consumption.

However, based on hygiene and safety considerations, it must be replaced at the latest after 12 months of use, even if the filtered water volume does not reach the upper limit.
■ (V series) CB-UF ultrafiltration cartridge: Filter for about 4000 liters or replace for about 12 months.
(X series) CB-UP ultra-microfiltration cartridge: Filter for about 2000 liters or replace for about 12 months.

1. A1000 long-acting cartridge: can filter about 10,000 liters of water (about 6 months), efficiently filter the fine particles such as rust and silt, and remove the organic pollutants such as peculiar smell, chlorine, trihalomethanes, lead, and pesticides (CAT) in the water.

2. P1000 hard water softening cartridge: can filter about 1200 liters of water (about 3~6 months); P3000 hard water softening cartridge: can filter about 3,400 liters of water (about 12 months), efficiently filter the fine particles such as rust and silt; through the sodium-free ion exchange resin can remove such as heavy metals (lead, copper) and calcareous substance (limescale), retain beneficial minerals (calcium, magnesium ions); and silver ion bacteriostatic activated carbon: can filter organic pollutants such as peculiar smell and chlorine in water.

3.mypure U5 cartridge: the front cartridge can filter 4,000 liters of water (about 6~12 months). Due to the differences in impurities in the water quality of different regions, it is recommended to replace the cartridge every 6 months; effectively filter the impurities such as suspended solids, sand and rust.

The main cartridge can filter about 4000 liters of water (about 12 months), and high-density activated carbon rod can efficiently filter heavy metals (such as iron), pesticides (such as lindane), trihalomethanes, residual chlorine, and other substances affecting the taste, and 0.1 micron hollow silk membrane can effectively filter out 99.9% of pathogens, such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.

The main components of the limescale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. The calcium and magnesium are come from the partial calcium and magnesium ions in the water. The ion exchange resin of BRITA is a hydrogen ion exchange resin, which will replace the calcium and magnesium ions that will form limescale in the water, leaving only calcium ions and magnesium ions that "will not form limescale". Therefore, the ion exchange resin of BRITA can remove the limescale, while retaining calcium, magnesium and other minerals that are beneficial to the human body.

Generally speaking, regions outside greater Taipei and Keelung are soft water areas, while other counties and cities outside of this area prefer medium hard water or hard water. The hardness of water quality in Taiwan can refer to the points listed below. However, the hardness of water quality in the same county and city may vary by region. It is recommended to consult Taiwan Water Corporation for inquiry. Soft water: Keelung, New Taipei City and Taipei; Medium hard water: Taoyuan, Miaoli, Taichung, Nantou, Chiayi, Tainan, Pingtung, Yilan, Taitung, Hualien, Penghu; Hard water: Hsinchu, Changhua, Yunlin, Kaohsiung ※ Source: Taiwan Water Corporation Information for September, 2017.

Only use filtered and qualified tap water sources, and the water storage equipment (such as water towers or water reservoirs) in the residential building should be cleaned regularly at least every 6~ 12 months without the risk of external pollution. In case of wind disaster or other special circumstances, when the local tap water authority instructs that the main water must be boiled before drinking, the BRITA filtered water shall be boiled for drinking. For specific persons (such as those with immune dysfunction or infants under 2 years of age), it is recommended that the BRITA filtered water be boiled before drinking.

Note: Immune insufficiency patients include:

Patients with AIDS, congenital immune insufficiency, asplenia, autoimmune disease or cancer who are being treated, kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, cirrhosis, chronic liver disease and diagnosed by a physician will affect immune their function

The taps used in the BRITA under-cabinet water filtration system are all made of 304 stainless steel, and the origin is made in Taiwan, Italy or China.

mypure pro under-cabinet water filtration system (hollow silk membrane filter)

  • Principle:

Utilize ultrafine pore filtration technology (hollow silk membrane) to filter out bacteria and viruses in water.

If not matched with the front cartridge, it is easier to block.

RO Reverse Osmosis

  • Principle:

The overall hardness of water quality includes permanent hardness and temporary hardness. The permanent hardness (caused by calcium, magnesium sulfate, and chlorine gas) cannot be separated out by heating and boiling, but it will not affect the taste of water or block household appliances. The temporary hardness is mainly determined by the content of calcium carbonate in water and expressed by "ppm", the content of calcium carbonate in hard water is more, while that in soft water is less.

The white deposits on kitchen appliances and jugs are calcium carbonate (calcareous substance) deposits, commonly known as limescale. In Taiwan, regions outside greater Taipei are mostly areas with high hardness of water quality, which will affect the taste of drinking water. If the water filter jug for MAXTRA + cartridge is not used temporarily, the water filter jug can be left empty. The funnel for placing the cartridge is a reflux type design, so there is a small amount of filtered water at the bottom of the funnel for the cartridge, which is used to keep the cartridge wet.

It is recommended to filter qualified tap water with a water temperature between 1 ~ 50°C.

MAXTRA cartridge for BRITA filter bottle (filter about 100 liters of water or replace the cartridge at least every 4 weeks):
Bacteriostatic activated carbon: remove peculiar smell in water, such as chlorine, trihalomethanes, pesticides and other organic pollutants; sodium-free ion exchange resin: remove such as heavy metals (lead, copper) and limescale (calcareous substance), It does not release sodium, which is a burden on the heart and kidneys, the combination of double-effect filter materials provides complete and reliable filtration efficiency.

Before replacing the cartridge or using a new cartridge, please directly soak the cartridge in water for about 10-15 minutes, and shake it in the soaking water for about 1 minute before taking it out to remove bubbles. After completing the previous steps, place the cartridge in the funnel. Before filtering, please pour out 2 ~ 3 pots (it is normal for soaking or filtering water to be gray black or colorless), it can be used normally from the third pot. Usually when filling water, please do not drive the flow volume too much (keep away from the cartridge and fill the water around the cartridge). In addition, please do not take the cartridge to the bottom of the tap for direct cleaning, so as not to cause activated carbon to agitate and rub into fine powders, which is easy to be washed out by water.

The MAXTRA + cartridge is sealed and packaged after 130°C ultra-high temperature steam sterilization during production. Therefore, it is normal for some moisture remains in the cartridge package. Please rest assured to use. Please also refer to the product usage instruction.

The validity period of the BRITA cartridge is 4 years before unopened. The manufacturing date of the cartridge is printed on the bottom of the outer box of the cartridge. A row of digital codes is printed on the inner packaging bag of the cartridge marked with DD / MM / YY (day / month / year). The first code of the digital codes is the year of manufacture, and the second and third codes are the weeks of manufacture, for example: 408 is manufactured in the 8th week of 2014.

According to the water quality in Taiwan, it is recommended to replace the cartridge every 4 weeks (about 100 liters of qualified tap water is filtered). In regions outside greater Taipei, due to the higher hardness of water quality, it is recommended to replace the cartridge in advance to achieve the best filtration efficiency.

Memo type: set by time (MAXTRA + cartridge is replaced for 4 weeks), when you press and hold the START key, four full black grids will appear. After the full black grids, hold for 4 ~ 5 seconds and then release your hand. The display is fixed at one black grid less every week. When all the grids are blank (4 weeks have passed), the cartridge should be replaced. The memory display is purely a function of recording time, which has nothing to do with your water volume consumption. Even if you do not use the water filter jug, the filter will still be calculated according to the set time. If you replace the cartridge according to the display, please repeat the above actions next time when you use a new cartridge.
 

  1. Meter type: take into account the filtered water volume, water quality (hardness) and time in a three-in-one measurement mode. When you press and hold the START key, four full black grids will appear. After the full black grids, hold for 4 ~ 5 seconds and then release your hand and the display shows "OK". As long as the display shows "OK", the MAXTRA + cartridge can exert its best performance. Each horizontal bar on the display indicates the remaining filterable water volume that can be filtered by the MAXTRA + cartridge. The continuous flashing of water drop symbol from top to bottom indicates that the water is being filtered at present. If flashing of empty cartridge symbol "NEW", please replace the cartridge.

 

  1. Smart Light intelligent indicator light type: when using the water filter jug, the time of pouring the body of the water filter jug will be used to calculate the filtered water volume. When the water volume reaches a certain amount, the light signal will change. The Smart Light intelligent indicator light has a power saving mode. When the water filter jug is not used, the light signal will automatically go out. After the MAXTRA + cartridge is used for the first time and replaced every time, you need to long press and hold the Smart Light intelligent indicator light for about 30 seconds and wait for the indicator light to flash three times to indicate successful activation.
